San Antonio Fire & Police Pensioners Association hosted Senator Jose Menendez at August meeting

| The retired members of the San Antonio Fire and Police Pension Fund packed the house for guest speaker Sen. Jose Menendez on August 11. Sen. Menendez spoke on issues which came up during the last legislative session in Austin. The Pension Fund expressed its appreciation for all that Sen. Menendez did to carry its proposed legislation in the Senate during the last session before the City Council formally voted to reject the measure. The Pension Board then requested that its delegation not advance the proposal further. (Rep. Rodriguez had carried it in the House). But more importantly, many bills that were harmful to defined benefit pensions did not pass, thanks to Sen. Menendez and Rep. Rodriguez! Also in attendance at the retiree meeting were Retired Police Trustee Harry Griffin and Retired Fire Trustee Larry Reed.
