At the end of 2025, the San Antonio Fire and Police Pension Fund had 4,467 active member participants from both the police and fire fighter forces in San Antonio contributing to the Fund. There were 2,876 retired pensioners, 5768 beneficiaries, and 54 disabled receiving benefits. Throughout their careers, neither the police nor firefighters paid into Social Security, nor do they receive any Social Security benefits, so pension fund benefits are their sole source of retirement income.
